Welcome to the Ministry

Nuru Lutheran Media Ministry is a Christian media organization working in Kenya and Tanzania. We are a branch of the International Lutheran Layman's League of St. Louis Missouri, through her Ministry arm Lutheran Hour Ministries.

The ministry's objective is "To share the gospel to all nations as people of Christ with a message of hope and to bring the lost to the fellowship of Christ".The corporate strategy is planning and executing ministry programs and activities that present the Gospel through various mediums.

Our main focus is to offer Lay people opportunity to evangelize using the different skills or talents they have.

Our ministries are entirely Volunteer based.

Nuru Ministries

Nuru Lutheran Media Ministry was officially launched in Kenya on 14th of February 1998. However, the work of Lutheran Hour Ministry - Kenya had started as early as 1996. The Area Counselor for Africa and Middle East, Dr. Menkir Esayas, was based in Nairobi and introduced "This is the Life" Video programs to Kenyan T.V. stations. Positive response from T.V. audiences prompted him to request the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Kenya to loan Lutheran Hour Ministry a pastor to deal with the T.V. responses. As a result, Rev. Rabach Dach started a small Lutheran Hour Ministry Nairobi office in 1997.

The Lutheran Church in Kenya

Nuru Lutheran Media Ministry has a legal working relationship with Evangelical Lutheran Church of Kenya (E.L.C.K.) The ministry work stretches to the smaller sister Church, Kenya Evangelical Lutheran Church (K.E.L.C.) Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya is in full communication with Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (L.C.M.S.) thus it's the official partner in ministry with Nuru Lutheran Media Ministry.
